Giovanni Felice Sances was an Italian composer who lived during the Baroque era. He was born in Rome but received his training as a singer and composer in Venice. Relatively little is known about his youth.

Sances was one of the long list of early Baroque composers who wrote vocal variations on popular secular tunes. He was particularly noted for his vocal music, which was often characterized by its highly expressive style. His works ranged from solo pieces to larger-scale choral and instrumental compositions.

Some of Sances's most well-known works include his Stabat Mater, which is from his collection of motets published in 1636, and Dulcis amor Iesu. He was also the first composer in Bologna to write for solo violin.

Overall , Sances made significant contributions to the development of Baroque music and his works are still performed and studied to this day.
