Carlos Sandoval Mendoza is a Mexican/German freelance composer and multimedia artist , born in Mexico City in 1956. He is recognized for his work in joining classic music and photography, as well as his use of unconventional score writing. Sandoval started his career as a lawyer, but later pursued his passion for music and became a composer. He studied composition at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City and the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Sandoval has a diverse portfolio of work, including writing music for films and television, as well as creating multimedia installations, sound art, and experimental performances. He has received various awards and recognition for his works, including the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center residency and the German Academic Exchange Service residency.
