Gerald Tyrwhitt-Wilson, 14th Baron Berners, was a British composer, painter, and writer born on September 18, 1883. He was a talented artist in many different fields and was known for his eccentric personality and unique sense of humor.

Berners began his music education at the age of 10, studying under the guidance of composer Frank Bridge. He was also heavily influenced by the works of Erik Satie and developed a love for avant-garde and experimental music.
