Georg Gerson, also known as George Gerson, was a Danish composer and banker born on October 14, 1790, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is best known for his orchestral compositions. Gerson's musical career began in his youth when he was a student of the composer Johann Gottlieb Naumann. Later, he studied with the German composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel in Vienna.

During his career, Gerson composed a variety of works, including chamber music, symphonies, and operas. However, he is mostly recognized for his orchestral works, which often drew upon Scandinavian themes and folk music. Gerson's notable compositions include "Symphony No. 1 in C major," "Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major," and "Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major."

Gerson was not a full-time musician but was also a successful banker. However, his passion for music never waned, and he continued to compose throughout his life. Sadly, Gerson died at the young age of 34 on February 16, 1825. Despite his relatively brief life, his contributions to the world of music are still appreciated today.
