Franco Evangelisti was an Italian composer and one of the founders of the Nuova Consonanza group, which was formed in 1964 and became an important part of the Italian avant-garde music scene. He was born on September 21, 1926, in Rome, Italy, and he passed away on August 28, 1980, in the same city.
Evangelisti was a prominent member of the group and was known for his experimental and avant-garde musical style. He believed in the use of sound as a primary expressive element in music and was interested in exploring new methods of composition, including the use of indeterminacy and aleatoric techniques.
In addition to his work with Nuova Consonanza, Evangelisti was also active as a teacher, helping to establish the first electronic music studio in Rome at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He was a mentor to many young composers and helped to inspire a new generation of Italian experimental musicians.
Evangelisti's compositions range from solo works to large-scale electronic productions. Some of his most well-known pieces include "Proiezioni sonore," "Aleatorio," and "Diafonie." He also wrote music for films, including "Il Caos" and "La Trappola."
