Francis Edward Bache was an English composer and organist who lived from 1833 to 1858. He was born in Birmingham and was the eldest of seven children. Bache was a talented musician from a young age, and he began composing when he was just 15 years old. He studied under composer William Sterndale Bennett in London, and he also spent time studying in Germany.

Bache was known for his melodic and harmonically rich compositions. He was heavily influenced by the music of Robert Schumann and other Romantic composers of the time. Bache's works include pieces for solo piano, songs, and chamber music. He also composed a piano concerto in E major , which is considered one of his most important works.

Despite his promising talent, Bache's life was tragically cut short when he died at the age of 25 from tuberculosis. His music was largely forgotten after his death, but in recent years there has been a renewed interest in his works. Musicians and scholars have recognized Bache's contributions to the Romantic repertoire, and many have worked to bring his music back into the public eye.
