Francesco Bianchi (1752 - 27 November 1810) was a prolific Italian opera composer who was born in Cremona, Lombardy. Bianchi studied with Pasquale Cafaro and Niccolò Jommelli ), and he went on to write at least 78 operas of all genres throughout his career. He was known to have focused mainly on Italian opera but also composed works in the French opera genre.

Bianchi's best-known works include "La villanella rapita", "Frascatana", and "Il finto astrologo". He also collaborated with Lorenzo Da Ponte on several works, including "La scuola dei mariti" and "La scuola degli amanti". In addition, Bianchi was a renowned teacher, and his pupils included Henry Bishop, who wrote the music for the well-known song "Home, Sweet Home".

Bianchi had a successful career that spanned several decades, and he remained active in the music industry up until his death in 1810. His works are still performed today and continue to be popular among opera enthusiasts.
