Francesc Ali i Brea, also known as Francisco Ali, was a Spanish composer who lived from March 27, 1862, to March 31, 1908. Born in Barcelona, he is best known for his contributions to the study of Catalan folk music. Ali is particularly recognized for writing the music of "Els Segadors," which is the Catalan national anthem. He composed the music for the anthem in 1892 and based it on a traditional Catalan folk tune.

Ali was known to be a pioneer in the study of Catalan folk music and many regard him as one of the most significant figures in the Catalan musical renaissance. He was trained in music by two of Catalunya's most prominent musicologists, Felip Pedrell and Antoni Nicolau, who are credited with initiating the Catalan musical renaissance. In his compositions, Ali revealed a great familiarity and appreciation of the Catalan culture, which was reflected in his music.

Apart from "Els Segadors," Ali composed a significant number of works, including Barcarola No.1. His music was popular at the turn of the century and is still performed today. Although he did not live long, his legacy continues to influence Catalan music, and his contributions to the study of Catalan folk music are still regarded as important.
