Full biography Felix Godefroid
Felix Godefroid (1818-1897) was a Belgian composer and virtuoso harpist of the Romantic era. He was recognized as one of the best harpists of his time and was known for his technical ability and innovative approach to the instrument. His compositions for the harp, such as "Etude de Concert" and "Carnaval de Venise," were widely popular and are still performed by harpists today. Godefroid also composed music for other instruments, such as piano and organ, as well as vocal music. He toured extensively throughout Europe and was highly regarded by his contemporaries, including Franz Liszt. Despite his success and popularity during his lifetime, Godefroid's music is not as well-known today as some of his contemporaries in the Romantic era. Nonetheless, he remains an important figure in the history of the harp and his contributions to the development of the instrument continue to be recognized and appreciated.
