David Conte is a prominent contemporary American composer known for his contributions to the world of classical music. Born in 1955, Conte has written over 150 works that have been published by E.C. Schirmer, including operas, musicals, and works for chorus. Among these works, his opera "The Gift of the Magi" has received more than 30 productions in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Conte has achieved much recognition and success throughout his career as a composer. In 2007, he received the Raymond Brock commission from the American Choral Directors Association.
