Daniel Sternefeld was a Belgian composer and conductor, born on November 27, 1905, in Antwerp. He passed away on June 2, 1986, in Brussels. He was known for his versatile style of music, which ranged from late romantic to expressionist.
Sternefeld's musical career spanned several decades and he composed many works during his lifetime, including his first symphony, which he wrote during the period of 1928 to 1932. He also conducted many orchestras, including the Belgian National Radio Symphony, and premiered several works of other composers, including those of Robert Herberigs.
Although Sternefeld's name may not be as well-known as some of the other Belgian composers of his time, his contributions to the country's music scene are significant. He was highly regarded by his peers and is considered to be a fascinating historical figure in the context of the Second World War.
