Cornelis Dopper was a Dutch composer, conductor, and teacher who lived from February 7, 1870, to September 19, 1939. He was born in Stadskanaal, a town in the Netherlands, and later moved to Amsterdam, where he spent much of his career. He is primarily known for his seven symphonies, although he also wrote many other works for orchestra , as well as vocal works and operas.
Dopper was a highly respected composer in his time, and his music was performed by major orchestras and ensembles throughout Europe. He was also known for his work as a conductor, leading performances of his own compositions as well as those of other composers. In addition to his work as a composer and conductor, Dopper was also a highly respected teacher, and many of his students went on to successful careers in music.
