Carl Friedrich Christian Fasch (1736-1800) was a German composer , harpsichordist, and music teacher. He was born in Zerbst, the son of composer Johann Friedrich Fasch , and studied with his father as well as with Gottfried August Homilius in Dresden. Fasch lived and worked most of his life in Berlin, where he became a member of the royal musical establishment. He held several positions, including that of director of the Berlin Singakademie, where he conducted choral works by composers such as Handel and Bach.

Fasch composed a wide range of music, including keyboard works, cantatas, oratorios, symphonies, and chamber music. He was influenced by the Baroque style of his time, but also introduced elements of the Classical era into his compositions. Some of his most well-known works include his keyboard sonatas, his choral works, and his chamber music. His compositions were generally well-regarded by his contemporaries and have been performed and recorded by modern musicians as well.

Fasch was also a respected music teacher and had several notable students, including composer and choir director Carl Friedrich Zelter. He was active in musical circles in Berlin and corresponded with many other composers of his time, such as Telemann and J.G. Pisendel. Fasch died in Berlin in 1800, leaving behind a substantial legacy as a composer and teacher.
