Carl Arnold (1794-1873) was a German composer and musician, known for his works in the genres of classical music, such as symphonic works, piano pieces, and chamber music. One of his notable works includes a string quartet and a piano sextet.

Arnold was also the composer of a successful opera ), Irene, which premiered in Berlin in 1832. Although he was not as well-known as some of his contemporaries such as Arnold Schoenberg or Karlheinz Stockhausen, Arnold's contributions to classical music were still significant.

Arnold settled in Norway for some time and made significant contributions to Norwegian music life, as a part of a group of German musicians and composers who moved there. He also toured the United States in 1902 and performed early music on authentic instruments , along with his wife and Kathleen Salmon.

Overall, Carl Arnold's compositions and musical contributions to classical music were significant, and his works are still recognized and celebrated today.
