Brenton Broadstock is an Australian composer, born in Melbourne in 1952. He is widely known for his contributions to classical music and has been active in the music industry for over three decades.
Broadstock has written extensively for various musical genres, including symphonic music, chamber music, solo works, and operas. Some of his famous works include "Earth Cry," "A Boy's Dream," "And No Birds Sing," and "Elegy."
Throughout his career, Broadstock has received numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Order of Australia in 2010, recognizing his contributions to music as a composer and educator. In 2008, he co-composed music for the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony.
Apart from his compositions , Broadstock has also been actively involved in teaching music and has taught at several universities, including the University of Melbourne, Deakin University, and Monash University. He has also mentored various young composers and continues to inspire the next generation of musicians.
In addition to his music and teaching, Broadstock has also been involved in various community projects that aim to bring classical music to a wider audience. He is currently working on a number of new compositions and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
