Composer Bill Hopkins (5 June 1943 - 10 March 1981) was a British composer and music critic ). Hopkins received his formal education as a composer with Luigi Nono at Dartington in the summer of 1965. His music drew influences from the post-Webernian era, featuring a blend of atonal and serialist techniques.
Apart from his work as a composer, Hopkins was also a music critic and published several music criticisms articles, mostly under the name G.W. Hopkins. He completed an orchestration in the spring of 1975 of Debussy's Lindaraja, which was well-received. Hopkins passed away at the young age of 37 in 1981, leaving behind a notable legacy as a composer and critic.
