Arturo Rodas is an Ecuadorian-born French composer born on March 3, 1954, in Quito. He is widely recognized for his excellent contribution to contemporary classical music. Rodas began studying composition at the National Conservatory of Music in Quito, Ecuador, and later continued his studies in France. He received a degree in analysis, counterpoint, fugue, and composition from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and served as assistant to French composer Jose Berghmans for one year.

Throughout his career , Arturo Rodas has composed numerous works of music, with his style being a mix of diverse influences, including traditional Ecuadorian and Latin American music, as well as modern French and European music. Some of his notable works include "Tutti Frutti," which showcases his neo-Romantic style, and "Cordes Sensibles."

Aside from composing, Arturo Rodas has also served as a university professor, sharing his vast knowledge and expertise with aspiring composers and musicians. He has taught at various institutions, including the University of Paris, the National Conservatory of Quito, and the Catholic University of Ecuador.

Arturo Rodas has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including the National Prize of Music of Ecuador in 1983 and the First Prize in the International Competition for Symphonic Works of Venezuela in 1993. He is respected widely in Ecuador and France for his contributions to the music world and is considered one of the most influential contemporary composers of his generation.
