In music, a drum cadence or street beat is a work played exclusively by the percussion section of a modern marching band (see marching percussion). It is stylistically descended from early military marches, and related to military cadences, as both are a means of providing a beat while marching.

Perhaps the most straightforward example of cadence is to notice how voice inflection changes when asking a question. In English, questions usually end with vocal inflections going up and this signifies to a listener that a question has been fully asked and they may now respond. Sarcasm is another common example.

So in all actuality, run cadence is extremely important. Common knowledge holds that a cadence of 180-foot strikes per minute is optimal. To achieve this, your left and right feet each hit the ground 90 times in a minute.
