An unaccompanied voice or instrument sings or plays alone, with no other instruments playing at the same time.

If someone is unaccompanied, they are alone. Many of those unaccompanied children are orphans. Unaccompanied baggage or goods are being sent or transported separately from their owner.

He attended the party unaccompanied. Unaccompanied children are not allowed in the store.

Unaccompanied goods. Often travellers acquire goods outside Canada and have these sent home. These goods arrive after your return to Canada. If you make such arrangements with a courier or postal company, you have 40 days from the date of your return to Canada to claim these goods.

A girl is travelling alone and/or may ask explicitly for help. If you see a girl travelling alone who appears to be (or you suspect to be) under 18, she may be unaccompanied.

An unaccompanied minor (sometimes "unaccompanied child" or "separated child") is a child traveling on a commercial flight, a train, a bus, or any similar conveyance, without the presence of a legal guardian.

Examples: May consist of personal clothing and equipment, essential pots, pans, and light housekeeping items, collapsible items such as cribs, playpens, and baby carriages; and other articles required for the care of dependents.

These may, therefore, include children accompanied by other adult family members or caregivers. “Unaccompanied children” are children who have been separated from both parents and other relatives and are not being cared for by an adult who, by law or custom, is responsible for doing so.

Children traveling alone We want your child to have a safe and positive trip. For safety, we require children age 5 – 14 traveling alone to use our unaccompanied minor service. This service is optional for children age 15 – 17, but if requested, then the fee applies.
