Meaning of A Flat in Music
In music, **A flat** refers to the note A that is lowered in pitch by one semitone or half step. It is represented by the symbol **♭** (derived from a stylized lowercase 'b') placed in front of the note. A flat note sounds a semitone lower than the natural A note. For example, A flat is lower in pitch than A, but higher in pitch than G.
Here's an example to illustrate the concept: If you play the A key on a piano and then play the A flat key, you will notice that the A flat key sounds slightly lower in pitch.
