Meaning of Tenorschlüssel in Music

In music, the term "Tenorschlüssel" refers to the tenor clef. The tenor clef is a symbol used in sheet music to indicate that the notes written on the staff are to be played or sung in the range of a tenor voice or instrument. It is characterized by a stylized letter "C" with a vertical line through it, placed on the third line of the staff. The tenor clef is primarily used for instruments such as the tenor trombone, tenor saxophone, and tenor voice. It allows for a more efficient notation of the higher range of these instruments, which would otherwise require excessive ledger lines.
