shag

A style of swing dance from the 1920s that became popular in the 1930s and 40s. There are several styles of shag that include the jitterbug, Collegiate shag, Carolina shag, and the St. Louis shag (a form of the Charleston). Shag is considered to be a variation of East Coast Swing.
