In German, the notes E flat and A flat are called Es and As.

E is the third note and the fifth semitone of the C major scale, and mi in fixed-do solfège. It has enharmonic equivalents of F♭ [(F-flat) which is by definition a diatonic semitone above E♭] and D. (D-double sharp), amongst others.

The notes of the E5 chord are E B. The intervals of the E5 chord are the root (E) and the perfect fifth (B).

E minor is a minor scale based on E, consisting of the pitches E, F♯, G, A, B, C, and D. Its key signature has one sharp. Its relative major is G major and its parallel major is E major.

E-flat major (or the key of E-flat) is a major scale based on E♭, consisting of the pitches E♭, F, G, A♭, B♭, C, and D. Its key signature has three flats.

According to Scientific American, “the highest female voice (soprano) [reaches] C6 and the lowest one (contralto) [goes] down to E3, while the highest male voice (countertenor, typically in falsetto) may hit E5, and the lowest one (bass) can drop down to E2.”

Contralto: The lowest female voice type also has a range from E3 to E5. It is the female equivalent, (range-wise anyway,) to the countertenor. Alto: The alto part is the 2nd lowest female voice type. It has a range only one note higher than the contralto, from F3 to F5.
