Zsolt Grdonyi (1946-2020) was a German-Hungarian composer, organist, and musicologist. He was known for his unique contemporary compositions that were often influenced by classical music. Grdonyi's music was characterized by its intricate harmonies and rhythms, with a focus on creating a rich and diverse sound world.

Grdonyi studied both organ performance and composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, Germany. He later taught organ and music theory at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne, Germany. In addition to his teaching and composition work, Grdonyi regularly performed as an organist throughout Europe and North America.

Some of Grdonyi's notable compositions include "Mozart Changes," "Organ Sonata No. 1," and "Tanzvariationen" (Dance Variations). He was also a respected musicologist and wrote several essays and articles on the history and theory of music.

Grdonyi passed away in 2020 at the age of 74. He left behind a legacy as a captivating and influential composer, who advanced the genre of contemporary classical music with his innovative works and approach.
