Willy Ostijn was a Belgian-Flemish composer born on July 13, 1913, in Kachtem (Izegem). He passed away on March 30, 1993, in Roeselare. Ostijn studied at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and graduated with a degree in composing. He is noted for his unique style, which mixed elements of modernism with traditional Flemish music. His compositions include chamber music, orchestral works, music for voice, piano music, and organ music. Some of his notable works include the "Sonata for Violin and Piano," "Prelude and Fugue for organ", "Interlude for Oboe and String Trio," "Chamber Symphony," and "Serenade for String Orchestra." Among his awards are the City Prize of Ghent and the Belgian Prix de Rome. Additionally, some of his works have been published by Free Scores.
