Wenzel Gährich was a German composer and violinist who lived from September 16, 1794, to September 15, 1864. He was born in Prague, Bohemia, which is now modern-day Czech Republic. Gährich started his musical career as a student of the famous Czech composer, Johann Nepomuk Hummel. He later became a violinist in the Kärntnertortheater orchestra in Vienna and in the Royal Court Orchestra in Munich.

Apart from being a violinist, Gährich was also a prolific composer. He wrote several operas, including "Die Maskerade" and "Die Abtrünnigen," which were performed in Munich. He also composed ballets, chamber music, and sacred music. Some of his most popular works include his string quartets, piano sonatas, and the ballet "Aladin."

Despite his success as a composer, Gährich's music is not well-known today. However, he was highly respected in his time, and his works were performed throughout Europe. Gährich passed away in Munich on September 15, 1864, at the age of 69.
