Walter Wilhelm Goetze was a German composer, known for his contributions to the operetta genre. He was born in Berlin on April 17, 1883, and received his musical education in his hometown. Throughout his career, Goetze composed a variety of works for the stage and screen, including operettas and film scores.
Goetze's most famous operetta was "Die göttliche Jette," which was composed in 1931 and written specifically for the actress Lucie Mannheim. He also wrote the operetta "Ihre Hoheit, die Tänzerin" and several film scores, including the score for the 1928 film "Alraune."
In addition to his work as a composer, Goetze also worked as an editor and arranger. He edited several works by the Austrian music publisher Anton Diabelli, and he arranged the song "Es schmeckt der Branntwein" for the operetta "Adrienne."
Walter Wilhelm Goetze passed away on March 24 , 1961, in his hometown of Berlin. Despite the passage of time, his contributions have not been forgotten, and his music continues to be studied and appreciated by music lovers today.
