William Orbit Forsyth (W.O.Forsyth) was a British composer, musician, and producer born on December 15, 1956, in Shoreditch, London. Forsyth was known for his innovative approach to music, blending various genres and creating a distinct sound that often incorporated electronic music.

Forsyth began his musical career in the 1970s as a guitarist for various rock bands and musicians. He released his first solo album, "Transportation," in 1983, which combined electronic and acoustic instruments.

In the 1990s, Forsyth gained global recognition for his work as a producer and collaborator with well-known artists, including Madonna, Blur, and All Saints. He co-wrote and produced Madonna's hugely successful album "Ray of Light," which won four Grammy awards in 1999.

Forsyth continued to release solo music throughout the 2000s, including the critically acclaimed album "Pieces in a Modern Style," which consisted of classical music pieces rearranged by Forsyth with electronic instrumentation.

Forsyth's musical style was heavily influenced by artists such as Brian Eno and David Bowie, and he was widely regarded as one of the pioneers of ambient music. His music often incorporated elements of psychedelia, world music, and avant-garde soundscapes.

Sadly, W.O.Forsyth passed away from cancer on April 17, 2022, aged 65. Despite his short life, his contributions to the world of music were immense, and he will be remembered as a pioneering composer and producer who pushed the boundaries of musical genres.
