Burke was known for his skills as a pianist, which he demonstrated in his work as a big band leader. He was also a talented composer, arranger, and producer who worked on a variety of projects throughout his career. Some of his most notable achievements include writing songs for the 1955 Disney film "Lady and the Tramp," including "The Siamese Cat Song" and "He's a Tramp."
Burke was also known for his collaborations with other musicians, including Peggy Lee. Together, they wrote and arranged several songs, including "Black Coffee" and "Midnight Sun."
Throughout his career, Burke received many accolades for his work in the industry. He was nominated for several Grammy Awards and won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Performance in 1964 for his arrangement of "I Wish You Love."
Burke passed away on May 31, 1980, leaving behind a legacy as a talented musician and composer.
