Solange Ancona was a French composer born in 1943. She was a student of the well-known composer Olivier Messiaen. Ancona's compositions were often influenced by spirituality and nature, and she was particularly interested in the textures and timbres of different musical instruments. Throughout her career, Ancona composed works for a variety of different instruments, including piano, strings, winds, and percussion.

In addition to her work as a composer, Ancona was also an influential teacher and mentor. She taught music analysis and composition at the Versailles Conservatory, where she herself had studied with Messiaen.
