Jacques Sandrin, more commonly known simply as Sandrin, was a French composer, singer, and performer who was active during the late 16th century. Despite being a prolific composer, little is known about his personal life, and even his birth and death dates remain a mystery.

Sandrin is best known for his chansons, or vocal songs, which were often performed at the French court and enjoyed widespread popularity throughout Europe. His music was characterized by its elegant melodies, intricate harmonies, and word painting, a technique in which the music reflects the meaning of the lyrics.

One of Sandrin's most famous works is the chanson "Doulce Mémoire," which translates to "Sweet Memory" in English. The piece features a beautiful melody and intricate counterpoint, and was widely performed and imitated throughout Europe in the 16th century.

In addition to his chansons, Sandrin also composed instrumental music, including pavanes, galliards, and branles, which were popular dance forms at the time.
