Salvatore Di Vittorio is an Italian-American composer who was born on April 20th, 1978. He grew up in Palermo, Italy and started studying music at a young age. He later attended the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where he studied composition, conducting, and piano.
Di Vittorio's music is characterized by a unique blend of contemporary classical elements with references to the Baroque and Classical periods. His compositions often feature intricate rhythms, rich harmonies, and an intense emotional quality.
Over the years, Di Vittorio has received numerous awards and commissions for his music. In 2003, he won the BMW Composition Prize at the Tanglewood Music Festival and was commissioned to write a work for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has also been commissioned by the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and the New Millennium Ensemble, among others.
