Full biography Ronald Corp
Ronald Corp is a British composer and conductor who was born in 1951. He is known for his work in choral music and has composed numerous pieces for choir, both with and without orchestra. Corp began writing music at a very young age , even before he learned to play the piano. His early interest in composition led him to study music at Oxford University and later at the Royal College of Music in London.
Aside from his work as a composer, Corp is also a highly regarded conductor. He founded the New London Orchestra and served as its music director from 1988 to 2011. During his time with the orchestra, he championed the works of many lesser-known British composers, leading to numerous recordings and performances of their music.
In addition to his work in classical music, Corp is also known for his contributions to the world of light music. He has conducted and arranged many classic pieces from this genre, and his recordings of this music have helped to introduce it to new audiences.
Corp's talent and contributions to the world of music have been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2012 for his services to music. As a composer, conductor, and musical ambassador, Ronald Corp has left an indelible mark on the world of music and his work continues to be celebrated and enjoyed by audiences around the world.
