Binge is best known for his composition "Elizabethan Serenade," which has become a classic of light orchestral music. However, he tired of writing arrangements and turned to composing , creating a significant body of work that included film scores, television and radio music, and stock music libraries. His music was characterized by lush orchestration and romantic melodies, and his arrangements were performed by some of the most famous orchestras of his time, including Mantovani and his Orchestra.
Binge's talent was recognized by the British royal family. In fact, a new arrangement of Binge's music was created for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Binge also played a significant role in creating the Mantovani sound , contributing to the success of the orchestra.
Despite his success, Binge remained humble and dedicated to his craft throughout his life. He died on September 6, 1979, at the age of 69. Today, his music continues to enchant audiences with its romantic melodies and lush orchestration, serving as a lasting testament to his remarkable talent and contribution to the world of music.
