Roger Lee Hall is an American composer and musicologist born in 1942. He is a renowned figure in the field of music preservation and Shaker music in particular. He started his career in composing and songwriting while in high school in 1960, and after serving in the US Army in Germany for three years, he began private lessons in piano and theory.

As a musicologist, composer, singer, teacher, and writer , his interest in Shaker music began in 1971 when he studied and performed it. Over the past five decades, he has become an expert in Shaker music, and his research includes interviews with several Shaker sisters , which he wrote about and published.

Roger Lee Hall has also received several Massachusetts Arts Council grants for his projects , which involved researching and writing about music and composers in Stoughton. He has also produced and hosted a series of music programs on cable television and even wrote and produced a one-act play called "The Musical Telephone," which was shown on cable TV.

In addition to being a composer and music preservationist , Hall is also a respected music historian and scholar. He has been named to the International Who's Who in Music and Who's Who in America.
