Richard Festinger is an accomplished composer known for his elegant and emotive compositions across a variety of genres. Festinger earned a Ph.D. in composition at the University of California in Berkeley , where he studied with Andrew Imbrie. He has since achieved international recognition for his extensive catalogue of vocal and instrumental compositions , comprising more than 80 compositions, including the widely recognized Icarus in Flight. Festinger's work as a composer has been widely recognized for its elegance and emotive power. He has served as Artistic Director for the Morrison Chamber Music Center at San Francisco State University, where he has continued to further his artistic vision, and work with notable composers like Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez and Alden Jenks. Festinger's compositions have been performed by world-renowned musicians, including the Empyrean Ensemble directed by Sam Nichols and the New York String Quartet , among others.
