Quincy Jones is an American record producer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer. Born on March 14, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, Jones has had a remarkable career spanning over 70 years. He has made significant contributions to the music industry and has worked with some of the most prominent musicians of his time.

Jones began his career in the 1950s as a trumpeter and arranger for numerous jazz bands and artists. He later became a record producer and worked with artists such as Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Ray Charles, among others. Jones also composed music for many films and television shows, including the theme music for Ironside, The Color Purple, and In the Heat of the Night. He has won 28 Grammy Awards and has been nominated for an Academy Award seven times, winning once for Best Original Score for the film The Color Purple.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Jones has contributed to humanitarian causes, serving as a spokesperson for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation and founding the Quincy Jones Musiq Consortium, which provides financial support to music education programs in schools.
