Franceschini was a member of the Bolognese School of music and was particularly famous for his sacred compositions, which often featured beautiful harmony, melody, and ornamentation.

Franceschini began his musical career as a singer in the choir of San Petronio in Bologna, where he was eventually appointed as the Maestro di Cappella or Music Director. In this position, he composed a significant amount of liturgical music for the church, including masses, motets, psalms, and other sacred works. He also wrote operas and instrumental music, including overtures, concertos, and sonatas.

One of his most well-known works is his Mass in D Major, which is a beautiful example of the Baroque style.
