Full biography Peter Hänsel
Peter Hänsel was a German-Austrian violinist and composer who focused almost exclusively on chamber music. He spent most of his life in Vienna and he was known for his contributions to the string quartet, string trio, and string quintet genres. He wrote nearly 60 string quartets , 6 string trios, and 5 string quintets, as well as other works for various chamber ensembles.
Hänsel's music is known for its complex harmonies and subtle emotional depth. Despite being relatively unknown outside of chamber music circles, his compositions have garnered significant critical acclaim for their intricate structures and melodic beauty. His music has been played and recorded by many prominent string quartets and other chamber ensembles.
