Paolo Quagliati (c. 1555 – 16 November 1628) was an Italian composer of the early Baroque era , and was a member of the Roman School of composers. He was born in Chioggia, near Venice, and spent most of his life in Rome. Quagliati served as a musician at several churches in Rome, including the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

Quagliati was known for his sacred music, including his motets and madrigals, which often featured expressive harmonies and vivid word-painting. He was one of the first composers to write solo madrigals in Rome, and his music was influential in the development of the Baroque style in Italy.

In addition to his work as a composer, Quagliati was also a highly regarded performer and teacher. He was skilled on the lute and the harp, and taught many young musicians at several institutions in Rome.

Some of Quagliati's most notable works include his collection of madrigals, Il carro di fedeltà d'amore, which consists of 21 pieces for four voices. He also wrote several masses, motets, and keyboard works.

Paolo Quagliati's legacy as a composer and teacher was significant and his music was highly regarded throughout Italy during his lifetime.
