Nicola Sabini (also known as Sabino) was an Italian composer from the mid-Baroque period, born around 1675. He is best known for his sacred opera, "Innocenza trionfante" (Triumphant Innocence), which was composed in 1701 and premiered in Rome. Sabini was one of the first major composers of the opera buffa, or comic opera, and his works were influential during his lifetime.

Sabini was likely educated in Naples, which was a major cultural center during the Baroque period. He may have studied under composer Francesco Provenzale, who was one of the leading figures in the Neapolitan school of composition. Sabini worked as a composer and organist at the Conservatory of Santa Maria di Loreto in Naples, where he succeeded Don Angelo, who left to assist his widowed sister-in-law and her children.

Aside from "Innocenza trionfante," many of Sabini's works have been lost or forgotten. However, he is known to have composed some operas, oratorios, and cantatas, as well as sacred music such as Masses and motets. He is also mentioned in historical documents as a respected music teacher.

Sabini died relatively young, around the age of 30, in 1705. Despite his relatively brief career, Sabini is remembered as an innovative composer who helped to shape the musical landscape of his time. His contributions to the development of opera buffa in particular were significant and paved the way for other composers in the genre.
