Nicola Bonifacio Logroscino was an Italian composer, born in the city of Naples in 1698. He was one of the most important composers of the mid-18th century in Naples, which was then one of the most important musical centers in Europe.

Logroscino began his career as a church musician and later moved to Rome, where he worked for the noble Colonna family. It was in Rome that he composed his first opera, "L'Antigona delusa da Alceste", which was performed in 1722 at the Teatro delle Dame.

In 1735, Logroscino moved back to his hometown of Naples, where he became the director of the Conservatory of Santa Maria di Loreto. Over the next two decades, he composed numerous operas, many of which were highly popular. In 1748, he composed the opera "Elisa", which is considered one of his masterpieces.

Logroscino's music is characterized by its emotional depth and dramatic intensity, as well as its innovative use of melody, harmony, and rhythm. His operas were performed throughout Italy and Europe, and his music influenced many of the composers who came after him.

Despite his success, Logroscino struggled financially throughout his life, and when he died in 1764, he was buried in an unmarked grave. However, his music continued to be performed and admired long after his death, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest composers of the Neapolitan School.
