Mikolaj Radomski, also known as Mikolaj z Radomia or Nicholas of Radom, was a renowned Polish composer who lived in the early 15th century. He was associated with the court of Wladyslaw Jagiello, the Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland, and worked in Krakow.
Mikolaj Radomski was an influential composer in the Polish musical scene, and specialized in religious music, including hymns and motets. Unfortunately, only a small portion of his work has survived to the present day. His surviving compositions, including hymns such as "Respublica sancti Martini" and "Gaude Mater Polonia," demonstrate his skills as a master of counterpoint and harmony.
Radomski was well regarded for his musical compositions, and many other musicians and composers were influenced by his works. He was highly esteemed in his time and was considered one of the leading composers of his era.
Today, Mikolaj Radomski is remembered as a crucial figure in the development of Renaissance music in Poland, and his work has been preserved in various archives and libraries. The National Music Museum in South Dakota, USA, holds a number of his compositions, including some of his original manuscripts.
