Full biography Michel Lambert
Michel Lambert (1610-1696) was a French baroque composer, singer and theorbist. He was one of the most prominent composers of solo songs in the 17th century France, and was known for his passionate and expressive writing style. Lambert was also a highly respected singing teacher during his time, and had a significant influence on the development of French vocal music.
Lambert composed hundreds of songs, most of which were published in twenty collections. His music was characterized by its elegant melodies and complex harmonies, and he was known for his ability to convey a wide range of emotions through his music.
In addition to his vocal works, Lambert also composed music for keyboard, lute, and viol. His compositions for these instruments were equally characterized by their beauty and emotional depth.
Although he attained fame during his lifetime, Michel Lambert's music fell into obscurity after his death. However, his works have enjoyed a revival in recent years, and he is now recognized as one of the leading French composers of the 17th century.
