Max Vogrich was a Hungarian composer and editor who lived from 1852 to 1916. He studied at the Budapest Academy of Music and later in Leipzig. Vogrich worked as a music editor and instructor in Australia and the United States. He taught at several institutions, including the Adelaide College of Music in Australia and the New York College of Music. Vogrich also edited music for the publishing house G. Schirmer. He is known for his editorship of Carl Czerny's "School of Velocity" and the oratorio "The Captivity."

While Vogrich is primarily known for his work as an editor, he also composed his own music. He wrote numerous piano pieces and transcriptions , although his compositions are not as widely recognized as his editorial work. Vogrich's music was played by pianist Adele aus der Ohe , who premiered several of his piano works in concert.

Vogrich's influence on music education and the piano repertoire is considerable. His work as an editor made the compositions of many great composers more accessible to pianists, and his own compositions continue to be played by pianists today.
