Maura is known for her hauntingly beautiful compositions, including her three-movement work, The Turning. This piece was commissioned in conjunction with the American Composers Forum and has been described as a "quiet masterpiece." Maura's musical influences are not well-known , but she has cited Bob Dylan as a source of inspiration for her work. In addition to her musical pursuits, Maura has also worked as a records management specialist for the government of Alberta.
