Marie-Anne-Catherine Quinault was a French composer born in Paris in 1695 and died in 1791. She was part of the Quinault theatrical family, which counted several prolific composers, poets and playwrights. Marie-Anne-Catherine Quinault was praised for her musical talent from a very young age and received a thorough musical education. She began her career as a composer with a cantata for the Académie Royale de Musique when she was only sixteen years old.

Quinault's works were characterized by their deft balancing of harmony and melody.
