Louis Vuillemin was a French composer and music critic who was born on December 19 , 1879, and died on April 2, 1929. He had a strong affinity for his Breton heritage, and this was reflected in much of his music. He wrote for Musica, a French music journal founded in the early 1900s, and was also a contributor to other publications such as Comdia, a theatrical daily.

Vuillemin was known for his expertise in music criticism, and his articles often contained provocative and insightful commentary. In one article, he controversially referred to a series of concerts as the "Concerts meteques," a term which can be translated as "mongrel concerts" and was meant to refer to the inclusion of Jewish musicians in the series.

As a composer, Vuillemin was influenced by the Impressionist style of music that was popular in France during his time. Some of his major works include "Fantaisie pour piano et orchestre" and "Symphonie en ut majeur." Despite his relatively short career, his contributions to music have been recognized and celebrated by those familiar with his work.

It's worth noting that Vuillemin is sometimes mentioned in conjunction with other Breton composers of his generation, such as Joseph-Guy Ropartz and Paul Le Flem. These composers were part of a group called La Cohorte bretonne, which sought to incorporate elements of Breton folk music and culture in their compositions.
