Kaspar Anton Karl van Beethoven was a German composer who lived during the 18th century. He was born in Bonn, Germany, in 1774, to Franz Georg van Beethoven and Magdalena Leym. Kaspar was the younger brother of the famous composer, Ludwig van Beethoven.

Kaspar Anton Karl van Beethoven was a skilled composer and instrumentalist who wrote chamber music, choral works, and piano sonatas. He studied composition with his brother Ludwig and composition with Joseph Haydn. His music was heavily influenced by the Classical style of the time, with its focus on elegance, gracefulness, and clarity.

Kaspar's music was admired by many of his contemporaries, including composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel, who described his works as "full of charm, grace and originality." Despite the high regard for his music, Kaspar struggled to achieve the same level of fame and recognition as his older brother, Ludwig, who became one of the most celebrated composers of all time.

In addition to his compositions, Kaspar Anton Karl van Beethoven also worked as the music director at the court of the Archbishop of Cologne. He held this position for several years and was respected for his musical talents and knowledge.

Kaspar Anton Karl van Beethoven died in 1815, at the age of 41. Though he didn't achieve the same level of recognition as his brother Ludwig, his compositions remain an important contribution to the Classical music canon.
