Josef Klicka was a Czech composer, conductor, and music teacher born in 1855 and passed away in 1937. He studied organ, orchestration, and harmony under the tutelage of Josef König. Klicka was a professor of organ at the Prague Conservatory, where he taught from 1898 until his retirement in 1928. He composed a number of works for the organ, including preludes, fugues, and sonatas. Klicka also composed music for choirs, including the popular "Five Bohemian Songs." In addition to his work as a composer and teacher, Klicka also served as the conductor of the Hlahol Chorus of Prague for several years. Klicka was a well-known figure in the Czech music scene, and his contributions as both a composer and a teacher are still celebrated today.
